Guidelines

Napoleonova vláda výrazně ovlivnila historickou malbu 19. století a jeden z hlavních představitelů tohoto uměleckého projevu byl Antoine-Jean Gros. Předmětem této bakalářské práce bude nejprve představit obor bitevní malby v rámci historické malby 19. století. Následně se práce soustředí na samotného umělce Grose a jeho současníky, jejichž díla bude srovnávat. Poslední a hlavní část práce se bude zabývat kopií uměleckého díla v soukromém vlastnictví, jež dovedně imituje Grosův obraz Bitva u Abukiru. Zdokumentuji postup bádání, jeho výsledek a můj vlastní názor na danou reprodukci.
Napoleon's reign significantly influenced 19th century historical painting, and one of the main figures in this artistic field was Antoine-Jean Gros. The first part of this bachelor's thesis will be to introduce the grounds of battle painting within the historical painting of the 19th century. Subsequently, the work focuses on the artist Gros himself and his contemporaries, whose works will be compared. The last and main part of the work will deal with a privately owned replica, which skillfully imitates Gros' painting The Battle of Abukir. I will present and explain the research process, its result and my own opinion on the given reproduction.
