Guidelines

Práce se zaměří na pojetí vztahu k „exotické“ Číně v díle Victora Segalena. Bude vycházet z jeho vlastních úvah o čínské kultuře v její jinakosti ve vztahu ke kultuře evropské a z básnické sbírky Stély (1912), případně také ze sbírky Obrazy (1916), jako z konkrétních příkladů realizace vlastního estetického programu. Jádrem práce bude vlastní charakteristika Segalenova obrazu Číny, včetně hodnot, které v čínské kultuře nachází. Tento rozbor bude konfrontován s názory literárních historiků, zejména v perspektivě přitakání Segalenovu zájmu o čínskou kulturu na jedné straně a kritiky eurocentrismu a orientalizujících klišé na straně druhé. Analýza bude vsazena do kontextu Segalenova života s důrazem na pobyt v Číně zachyceného na základě sekundární literatury.
