Teoretická část práce shrne dosavadní výsledky studií zaměřených na distribuci typu ne/předložkového komplementu I prevented him (from) going to the party, a navíc zahrne variantu s konatelem vyjádřením posesivem I prevented his going to the party. Praktická část shromáždí korpusová data reprezentující zkoumané registry, které bude charakterizovat frekvenčně i kvalitativně (korelace s faktory, jako je komplexita (Rohdenburg), ikonicita (Dixon), sémantika celé konstrukce I prevented her going – ‚I did it directly‘ x I prevented her from going – ‚I did it indirectly‘, typ –ing slovesa či forma stop/prevent, či další, které vyplynou ze vzorku. |
