| Tato bakalářská práce se bude zabývat návrhy sepulkrálních uren, které vznikaly v Čechách po roce 1918. Především bude pozornost věnována období 20. let 20. století, kdy se začalo řešit téma kremace a návrhy uren se objevovaly častěji, dokonce na ně byly pořádány i soutěže. Práce bude pojednávat zejména o kubistech, ale i jiných umělcích, kteří se návrhy uren zabývali a pokusí se jejich tvorbu zasadit do širšího evropského kontextu, především s ohledem na to, že v jiných zemích Evropy se s kremací a budováním krematorií začalo dříve než v Čechách. Mezi umělce, jejichž tvorba bude v práci sledována, patří Vlastislav Hofman, Jaromír Krejcar, Bedřich Wachsmann, Rudolf Stockar, Josef Chochol či Otakar Novotný, kteří urny navrhovali v rámci družstva Artěl. Pozornost bude věnována vizuální stránce těchto návrhů i samotným umělcům, ve snaze pochopit, jak k tématu přistupovali. Stejným pohledem se práce pokusí zaměřit na návrhy současných umělců a nalézt rozdíly v jejich přístupu oproti kubistům, kteří často byli také architekti. Pro představení tohoto tématu je také nutné zabývat se dobovým kontextem a obecně dobovými názory na kremaci. Rozvoj návrhů uren úzce souvisí s pohřbem žehem, který byl v Čechách od 20. let propagován Františkem Menclem. Tato práce si klade za cíl komplexněji zpracovat téma sepulkrálních uren, uvést ho do evropského kontextu a také na něj upozornit. A to zejména proto, že dosud nebyla vypracována žádná studie pojednávající o vizuální stránce sepulkrálních uren. Proto by tato práce mohla být přínosná pro oblast uměleckého řemesla a designu, které prozatím nebyla věnována přílišná pozornost. This bachelor thesis will discuss the topic of funerary urns and their designs that were created in Bohemia after 1918. The main focus will be on the 1920s when the topic of cremation and urn design started becoming more important, so much so that design competitions for urns were being organized. The research will be focusing mainly on the works of the Czech cubists but also different artists, who occupied themselves with the urn designs. The thesis will also try to put these works into a wider European context, especially seeing as the other European countries began with cremation and building of crematoriums sooner than Bohemia. Among the artists who the attention will be on are Vlastislav Hofman, Jaromír Krejcar, Bedřich Wachsmann, Rudolf Stockar, Josef Chochol or Otakar Novotný, who designed the urns within the Artěl cooperative. The focus will be on the visual side of these designs as well as on the artists themselves in an effort to understand how they approached the topic. With the same approach, the thesis will try to focus on the designs of selected contemporary artists and find the differences in their approach in comparison to the cubists, seeing as they were often also architects. To introduce the subject of urn designs, it is also necessary to discuss the 1920s context as well as the views on cremation at the time. The development of the urn design is closely connected to cremation which was largely supported by František Mencl in the 1920s Bohemia. |
