| Diplomová práce se zaměří na ditranzitivní slovesa envy a forgive, která představují specifický typ ditranzitivních sloves. Na rozdíl od prototypických ditranzitivních sloves jako give nebo buy, kde nepřímý předmět alternuje s předložkovým předmětem s to nebo for (give sb sth/give sth to sb; buy sb sth/buy sth for sb), u sloves envy a forgive alternuje s předložkovým předmětem předmět přímý, konkrétně s předložkou for, přičemž řazení předmětů zůstává totožné, např. She envied John his success; She envied John for his success (Quirk et al., 1985: 1209); You can forgive him anything, She’d find the way to forgive him for the theft of the money (Collins English Dictionary). Hlavním cílem této práce je zmapovat preferenci postverbálního valenčního doplnění těchto dvou sloves z diachronního pohledu za posledních 200 let v americké angličtině, ověřit, zda daná slovesa preferují řazení předmětů bez předložky (S-V-Oi-Od), či možnou alternativní konstrukci s předložkou „for“ (S-V-O-Oprep), a zjistit, jak se tato preference mění v čase. Colleman a De Clerck (2008) zaznamenali významný pokles užití ditranzitivních konstrukcí S-V-Oi-Od u těchto dvou sloves v britské angličtině. Práce na jejich výzkum navazuje s cílem ověřit užití sloves envy a forgive v americké angličtině.
Materiál bude čerpán z Korpusu historické americké angličtiny (COHA). Bude provedena detailní syntakticko-sémantická analýza těchto ditranzitivních konstrukcí, pozornost bude věnována realizační formě obou komplementů a jejich sémantice. Rovněž budou identifikovány intenční větné typy. Získané výsledky pak budou hrát klíčovou roli v porovnání komplementace těchto sloves v čase a zároveň nastíní možné rozdíly mezi těmito slovesy i z perspektivy synchronní. Práce bude vypracována v anglickém jazyce. |
