Guidelines

Organizace Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association působila na přelomu 60. a 70. let 20. století. Věnovala se pomoci diskriminovaným katolickým obyvatelům Severního Irska, upozorňovala na případy diskriminace a podílela se na organizacích protestů, pochodů a dalších akcí. Zařadila se do celkového vývoje prosazování lidských práv v Evropě i ve světě - vznikla v bouřlivém roce 1968, kdy se téma bojů za lidská práva dostávalo v různých formách do popředí. Zároveň postupy NICRA předznamenávaly myšlenkové proudy, které se významně začaly prosazovat po Konferenci o bezpečnosti a spolupráci v Evropě, konané v roce 1975 v Helsinkách. Práce si klade za cíl ukázat, jak NICRA svou existencí a činností zapadá do celkového vývoje konceptu lidských práv. Cílem je přijít na inspiraci členů NICRA, prozkoumat její činnost a zjistit, jak se podobala jiným lidskoprávním organizacím a zda už byly její metody aplikovány i dříve. Dále se zabývá účinkem činnosti NICRA např. ve srovnání s ve výsledku víceméně úspěšnými pohelsinskými lidskoprávními hnutí, která ve východní Evropě přispěla k pádu komunismu a demokratizaci.
Na začátku se práce krátce věnuje světovému vývoji lidských práv s důrazem na období začínající vznikem NICRA a mířící k rozpadu Sovětského svazu. Následně již přejde k NICRA a postupně rozebere jednotlivé aspekty její existence, jako např. vznik, členové, metody, výsledky. Průběžně bude práce upozorňovat na srovnání a souvislosti se světovým děním. Využita k tomu bude již vydaná literatura, memoáry účastníků, vydané dokumenty organizací a novinové články.
