Preliminary scope of work in English
Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are heterogeneous group of diseases based on different response of lung tissue to external or internal factors. The nature of the process and prognosis of the patients is sometimes not easy to predict. The project wil be aiming to identify clinical, radiologic and molecular biomarkers predicting course of the ILDs and need for either antiinflammatory or antifibrotic treatment. The materials from the patients with ILDs will be collected (clinical characteristics and functional parameters, radiology- high resolution computed tomography- HRCT, blood, bronchoalevolar lavage and lung biopsy). The genetic profile of the patients will be investigated as well. As a result we aim to create predictive combined biomarker score or combination of biomarkers, which can predict prognosis of the patients and allocate appropriate treatment. Thus some parameters will be evaluated also during 5 years follow -up (HRCT, blood, functonal parameters).
The work will consist of clinical part with collection of the clinical data or consecutively investigated patient with interstitial lung diseases ( clinical parameters, lung function, radiology- high resolution computed tomography, bronchoalveolar lavage, lung biopsy). The genetic investigation and moleculart analysis of biologic samples will be performed at the workplase of the consultant- prof. Matěj. We count with at least 5- years project- it will be longitudinal follow-up study.
