| Tato diplomová práce se bude zabývat třemi (čtyřmi) generacemi sochařské rodiny Kitzingerů, působících jak v severních Čechách, tak v Praze. Abrahám Kitzinger (+ 1688) spolu se svým otcem vytvořil mezi lety 1679 - 1683 sochařskou výzdobu zahrady na zámku v Děčíně. Zatímco otec Kitzinger zůstal do konce života v Děčíně, syn Abrahám se usadil nejprve v Litoměřicích a pak v Milešově, kde i zemřel. Tento sochař vytvořil mezi lety 1680 - 1685 výzdobu morového sloupu v Litoměřicích. Jeho syn Felix Abrahám Kitzinger se záhy uplatnil v nám neznámém díle otce a následně odjíždí do Prahy, kde roku 1691 získává měšťanské právo. Dle archivních pramenů byl Felix Abrahám činný pro premonstráty na Starém Městě pražském, pro řád augustiniánů u svatého Václava na Novém Městě pražském a pro řád cisterciáků v Oseku. Doposud ale uměnovědná literatura tato díla nikterak blíže nezkoumala. V Oseku, kde se pravděpodobně asi i ke konci života usadil, se mu narodil syn Felix Kitzinger (+ po 1743), kterého máme také následně doloženého jako měšťana v Praze. Bohužel tomuto sochaři doposud nejsme schopni přiřadit žádná umělecká díla.
Takový přehled nám podává nejnovější literatura ze 70. let 20. století. Literatura starší naproti tomu počítala pouze se třemi generacemi rodu Kitzingerů, tj. nejstarším Abrahámem, Abrahámem Felixem a Felixem. Bohužel ani dosavadní archivní výzkumy nám pregnantně neurčily, zda Abrahám II. skutečně žil, či zda se jedná pouze o umělecko-historický konstrukt. Zároveň se také doposud literatura nikterak podrobněji nezabývala, až na zámeckou zahradu v Děčíně a morový sloup v Litoměřicích, uměleckých dílem a přínosem celé rodiny. Také životy a umělecká tvorba všech čtyř generací jsou doposud neznámy a nikterak podrobněji nerozebírány v odborné literatuře. Tato práce si tedy dává za cíl rozuzlit otázku počtu členů rodiny Kitzingerů a jasně jim přiřadit známá fakta a díla. Dále se autor práce pokusí nastínit detailnější životopisy jednotlivých umělců se zaměřením na jejich sociální statusy, majetek, kontakty a vztahy ve společnosti i se zadavateli. V neposlední řadě je také nutno obohatit rejstřík děl připsaných Kitzingerům o nové objevy a ty podrobit detailní formální analýze. Autor bude pracovat především s archivním materiálem církevních řádů, které byly významným zaměstnavatelem Kitzingerů. Dále také se šlechtickými archivy a archivy jednotlivých měst a obcí (Děčín, Milešov, Praha). Jsem si jist, že právě detailní archivní průzkum pomůže k ucelenějšímu pohledu na celou problematiku. Samotná práce bude rozdělena do několika oddílů. Vedle snahy postihnout umělecké ovzduší doby, kdy jednotliví sochaři pracovali, bude velká kapitola věnována i životům jednotlivých členů rodiny ve světle archivních pramenů. Nesmí také chybět kapitola o problematice barokní umělecké dílny, ve které se často stíral mezigenerační rozdíl, a mnoho umělců tak zde pracovalo až “anonymně”. Tvorba této dílny bude na základě nového zhodnocení zasazena do kontextu nejen severočeského barokního sochařství, ale bude porovnán take se soudobou produkcí pražskou. Samostatnou kapitolu bude představovat také katalog se strukturovanými medailony jednotlivých uměleckých děl, ať již jsou potvrzeny archivními prameny, či pouze připsány na základě stylové analýzy. Samotnou práci pak bude uzavírat soubor přepsaných archivních pramenů vztahujících se k rodině Kitzingerů. The topic of this masters thesis is three (four) generations of the sculpture family Kitzinger, who worked not only in Northern Bohemia but also in Prague. Between 1679 - 1683 Abraham Kitzinger (+ 1688) together with his father they decorated sculptures in the palace garden of Děčín. The Father Kitzinger stayed in Děčín till the end of his life, but his son Abraham moved to Litoměřice and later to Milešov, where he also died. This sculptor created between 1680 - 1685 the stone decoration of the Plague Column in Litoměřice. Shortly after that started his son Felix Abraham Kitzinger to play a role in his father’s unknown sculpture business. Soon he left Milešov and moved to Prague, where he got Citizenship status in 1691. According to the archive research he was hired by the Premonstratensians from the Old Town, Order of St. Augustine from the New Town and Cistercians from Osek Monastery. Till nowadays these art pieces were not deeper examined by the art historians. In Osek, where he probably stayed till the end of his life, was born his son Felix Kitzinger, who shortly after his father’s death came to Prague and lived there his whole life and worked as a sculptor. Sadly we are not able to bind any art pieces to this artist. This is the summary of the information we have about this family from the recent literature. The older literature counted only with three generations instead of four and even now we are not sure, how important was the role of an another fourth generation. Also until now art historians didn’t consider the artist influence an importance of this family in the period context as well as more detailed research on their works. The goal of this thesis is to make order of the mysterious four generations and the life dates of each member. The author of this theses will also try to make the biographies of the family members as detailed as possible based on the large archive research with the specification on social status, wealth, contacts and relationships with the commissioners and other period artists. Also we need to enlarge the number of work attributed to Kitzinger family and make a deep analysis of these art pieces. The author will work mainly with the archives of the religious orders, who were the biggest commissioners of the family. Cooperation will be lead also with city archives and archives of the noble families. I am sure that a detailed analysis of the archive documents will bring new light on this problematic issue. The thesis itself will be divided into several chapters. Next to the description of the art climate in those times there will be a wide chapter with biographies of each member of this family, who were sculptors or artists in general. We also cannot forget the chapter about the artist family workshop that is problematical because of the “anonymity” of the artists who worked under the owner of the workshop. Production of this family business will be according to the new art historical evaluation set in the environment of baroque Northern Bohemia sculpture. It will also be compared with the Prague production of the day. An independent chapter will be a catalogue with the profiles on every art piece attributed to Kitzinger family based on the style analysis or archive research. The last chapter of the whole thesis will be the transcribed archive documents connected with the Kitzinger family. |
