| Tématem a cílem diplomové práce je studium života korzárů v oblasti Karibského moře, od příčin, které vedly k rozhodnutí se korzárem stát, přes každodenní život a dopady činnosti korzárů na společnost, až po jeho odraz v dobové i dnešní literatuře. Součástí práce je srovnání korzárství s pirátstvím, vzhledem k častému prolínání těchto aktivit. Důraz je kladen především na anglické a francouzské korzáry operující v karibské oblasti proti Španělsku. Závěrem se formou případové studie věnuji srovnání korzárského života s obrazy, které předkládají literární autoři či scénáristé. Práce vychází především ze studia dobové literatury a dostupných archivních textů zpracovaných metodou kvalitativní analýzy na základě dostupné sekundární literatury. |
