Guidelines

Tato práce se zabývá způsoby, jakými lze podle Jonathana Parryho interpretovat hinduistický pohřeb. Zejména zde bude přiblíženo Parryho pojetí hinduistického pohřbu jako poslední oběti zesnulého a obnovy života v souvislosti s hinduistickou kosmologií (homologie těla a kosmu). Tyto interpretace budou následně potvrzeny či vyvráceny pomocí Garudapurány, jednoho z nejdůležitějších hinduistických náboženských textů zabývajících se pohřebním rituálem a smrtí. Parryho interpretace se vztahují k pohřbu ve Váránasí, které je v kontextu hinduistické smrti naprosto specifickým místem.
