Guidelines

Diplomová práce Magdaleny Maratové bude sociolingvistickou studií zkoumající užívání tázacích dovětků. Cílem práce bude popsat tendence a rozdíly v užívání tázacích dovětků mezi muži a ženami. V teoretické části autorka jednak shrne různé přístupy k obecné problematice genderu a popíše obecné rozdíly mezi jazykem mužů a žen („dominance approach“, „difference approach“…) (Lakoff R. 1975). Dále se zaměří na klasifikaci pragmatických funkcí tázacích dovětků, např. „expressing uncertainty“, „facilitative“, „softening“ a „confrontational“ (Holmes 1982 a 2001). Empirická část práce bude založena na analýze 200 příkladů tázacích dovětků (100 příkladů dovětků pronesených ženami a 100 tázacích dovětků pronesených muži), získaných z mluvené části korpusu COCA (popř. BNC, pokud již bude v době zpracování práce k dispozici). Při excerpci se autorka zaměří na mluvčí stejné generace a bude sledovat délku textu nutného pro získání požadovaného množství dovětků u mužů a žen. U každého dovětku bude určena jeho pragmatická funkce. Jedním z cílů práce bude sestavit repertoár nejčastějších tázacích dovětků užívaných ženami na straně jedné a muži na straně druhé. Zároveň se práce bude snažit jednak ověřit, zda ženy používají tázací dovětky více než muži, a které pragmatické funkce u žen / mužů převládají.
