Guidelines

Práce se bude věnovat estetickým úvahám britského filosofa Franka Sibleyho a souvislostmi mezi nimi a teoriemi tzv. estetické supervenience (teze o vztahu závislosti vlastností estetických na mimoestetických). Sibleyho práce bývá v analytické estetice obvykle interpretována jako inspirační zdroj právě teorií estetické superveniece. Nahlížen tímto způsobem se Sibley jeví jako autor, jenž si ve svých analýzách estetického užívání jazyka primárně kladl otázku po ontologické závislosti mezi estetickými a mimoestetickými vlastnostmi, kterou ale sám nakonec nedokázal zcela uspokojivě zodpovědět, byť ji inspirativním způsobem otevřel pro další zkoumání. Cílem práce je zvážit, zda je výše zmíněné čtení Sibleyho úvah jediné možné a zda se nenabízí alternativní interpretace, která by byla jeho textům adekvátnější. Navrhovaný alternativní způsob čtení Sibleyho estetických zkoumání (opírající se jak o texty samotného Sibleyho, tak o kritické reakce, které vyvolaly, a zároveň i o zhodnocení teorií supervenience) bude akcentovat Sibleyho analýzu estetického souzení a zváží možné uplatnění pojmu estetického postoje.
