Guidelines
The main question of the paper is to what extend can the past be defining for limits of imagination oriented towards the future. The thesis aspires to convey power of historical narratives in certain current policies – such as in case of Polish “polityka historyczna” that is used as a study case in this paper. Collective memory and shared common meta-narrative in society play a salient part in forming collective identity and political imagery of the society. As such provide cold historical, political and economical facts with meanings and thanks to this narratological approach we can hermeneutically analyze given politics in diachronic manner.
