Guidelines

Cílem práce je vystopovat vývoj stereotypu postavy jižanské krásky ve vybraných dílech předních autorů amerického Jihu (v abecedním pořadí Kate Chopin, William Faulkner, Zelda Fitzgerald, Margaret Mitchell, Thomas Nelson Page, Katherine Anne Porter). V úvodu budou objasněny společenské a kulturní podmínky, které výrazným způsobem ovlivnily vznik mýtu jižanské krásky, jehož proměny se následně budou stopovat ve vlastních analytických kapitolách členěných chronologicky, tj. od období tzv. starého Jihu po období jižanské renesance. Celá práce je koncipována interdisciplinárně: kromě literární historie, teorie a kritiky bude významnou měrou čerpat též z poznatků feminismu a jižanských studií.
