| Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza dějinných souvislostí, které vedly ke vzniku a přijetí Deklarace nezávislosti Spojených států amerických. Práce se zaměří nejen na samotné historické události, jež s vyhlášením Deklarace bezprostředně souvisely, ale i na proces jejího přijetí. Důraz bude kladen na publicistická, literární a filozofická díla, ze kterých autoři při sepisování Deklarace vycházeli, a také na komisi, jež byla sestavením tohoto dokumentu pověřena. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována osobě Thomase Jeffersona, zejména pak zodpovězení otázky, do jaké míry Jefferson ovlivnil závěrečný text Deklarace. Poslední část práce stručně zhodnotí vnímání tohoto dokumentu v dnešní době a jeho význam v současném americkém historickém diskurzu. |
