Guidelines

Předkládaná práce se zabývá vzájemným vztahem mytologických válek božských hrdinů proti chaotickým bytostem a válek novoasyrských panovníků proti cizím zemím. Mými prameny budou především hrdinské mýty jako "Ninurta, Asag a kameny", "mýtus o Anzúovi", "mýtus o Labbuovi", "Enúma Eliš" a záznamy z novoasyrských královských análů.
Válku zde budu zkoumat jako konfrontaci s chaosem sloužící k znovustvoření kosmického řádu, k jeho obnovení a posílení. Za tím účelem budu používat antropologické teorie vztahu struktury a antisktrukury a koncepty moci a násilí, jak s nimi pracují např. Edmund Leach a Victor Turner.
Centrem mého zájmu bude novoasyrská říše, ovšem nevyhnu se ani zmínkám o jiných obdobích a oblastech starověkého Předního východu. Mým záměrem je i kritika doposud populárního trendu v asyriologii interpretovat vztah válek historických panovníků a bohů pouze jako politický nástroj královské ideologie vedený ekonomickými a utilitárními zájmy.
