Guidelines |
V první části práce se zaměřím na Humeovo pojetí morálních a estetických soudů. Podle Humea jsou soudy založeny nikoli na rozumu nebo poznání, nýbrž na „sentimentu“, tedy na emocích. Úloha rozumu je spíše pomocná (nicméně stále důležitá). Dále se budu zabývat tím, jak se na základě různých morálních emocí může ustavit jakýsi standard. Uvidíme tedy, že založení soudů na emocích nevede u Humea k čirému subjektivismu. Ve druhé části se pokusím důkladněji rozebrat esej Of the Standard of Taste, ve kterém Hume m.j. přichází s jiným druhem standardu než v oblasti morální. Jedním z problémů, které chci prozkoumat, je vztah „morálního“ a „estetického“ standardu. Dále mi půjde o důležitost úlohy, kterou Hume přikládá „vytříbenému“ sentimentu (jakožto původci soudů) v různých oblastech lidské činnosti. Jak Hume říká: „Příroda nás s absolutní a nekontrolovatelnou nutností předurčila k souzení, stejně jako k dýchání a cítění.“ |
