Guidelines

Práce se bude zabývat ozbrojeným odporem etnika Tarahumara (severní Mexiko) proti Španělům v koloniální době, a především reflexe tohoto odporu v kronice misionáře z české provincie, působícího na území Tarahumarů, Josefa Neumanna. Diplomat se zaměří především na úlohu hrálo válečnictví v tarahumarské společnosti a její (eventuální) proměny pod španělským tlakem a srovná tarahumarský vztah k válce s dalšími vybranými etniky severního pohraničí, především s Apači, případně s pozdějším povstáním Yaquiů v osmnáctém století. Dalším problémem budou reakce koloniální správy a zpětný vliv těchto revolt na přístup španělských úřadů k indiánům.
