Guidelines

Základním tématem diplomové práce je postavení pojmu estetické zkušenosti na poli současné estetiky. Jako jeden z nejzákladnějších pojmů tradiční novověké estetiky byla estetická zkušenost v posledním půlstoletí podrobena kritice z mnoha stran. Zároveň však v posledních desetiletích dochází, z několika souvisejících příčin (znovuoživení filozofického pragmatismu, znovu promýšlení odkazu Kantovy estetické teorie aj.), ke snaze tento pojem reinterpretovat a udržet jej jako smysluplný a funkční v rámci diskurzu estetické teorie. Užším tématem této diplomové práce je obhajoba neopragmaticky laděné interpretace pojmu estetické zkušenosti v díle Richarda Shustermana. Práce se pokusí poukázat nejen na Shustermanovy argumenty, které podporují udržitelnost pragmatického pojetí pojmu estetické zkušenosti, ale rovněž i na stanoviska, která v udržení tohoto hlediska brání. Pozornost se bude soustředit především na Shustermanovu interpretaci Deweyho pojetí „umění jako zkušenosti“ a na Shustermanovo vlastní, přesto s Deweyho pragmatismem související téma – somaestetiku.
