Guidelines

Práce si klade za cíl dále rozvinout téma polynéské literatury v angličtině, které bylo poprvé představeno v českém kontextu v mé předchozí magisterské diplomové práci, nazvané „Dědictví a inovace – Polynéská literatura v angličtině“ a obhájené v září 2012. Už názvem má druhá diplomová práce dokládá, že navazuje na úvodní první část, v níž byla tato post-koloniální literatura zmapována, byla vymezena její základní charakteristika a nastíněn její zrod a vývoj. Problematika, která se váže k polynéským studiím, byla pak konkrétně řešena představením tří klíčových autorů a analýzou jejich reprezentativních děl z hlediska dialektiky dědictví a inovace. V této druhé práci budou uvedeny tři další významné osobnosti polynéské literatury v angličtině – F. J. Frisbie, Patricia Grace a Sia Figiel –, na něž v předchozí práci nebyl prostor, a tím bude doplněn a zpřesněn obraz této nové literatury. Představením těchto autorek, patřících do tří různých generací, budou sledovány různé etapy vývoje této literatury v kontextu tamějšího politického, kulturního a literárního dění od 50. let 20. století po současnost. Analýzou a interpretací jejich vybraných děl – F. J. Frisbie: Miss Ulysses from Puka-Puka (1948), P. Grace: Waiariki (1975), Mutuwhenua, The Moon Sleeps (1978), Sia Figiel: Where We Once Belonged (1996), The Girl in the Moon Circle (1996) – bude pozorována proměna jejich vztahu k polynéskému dědictví a rozmanitost jejich postupů při jeho inovaci. Skutečnost, že tyto tři osobnosti polynéského literárního dění a jeho vývoje jsou ženy, nám umožní ukázat ženský pohled na polynéskou mytologii a post-koloniální problematiku paralelně s jejich mužskými protějšky – Witi Ihimaera, Alistair Te Ariki Campbell a Albert Wendt –, jimž byla věnována pozornost v předchozí práci.
