Guidelines

Zásah císaře Iustiniana, jímž měla být v roce 529 zrušena novoplatónská Akadémie v Athénách, je poměrně známou episodou pozdněantických dějin, stejně jako údajně následná cesta sedmi pohanských filosofů do perské říše i jejich návrat. O celé aféře jsme však informováni spíše náhodnými zmínkami v několika pramenech různého charakteru, které umožňují protichůdné interpretace. Úkolem studentky bude na základě doporučené sekundární literatury a další, kterou sama vyhledá, shromáždit pramenné informace, samostatně je vyhodnotit a na tomto základě kriticky zhodnotit interpretace moderních badatelů. Závěrem by mělo býti zaujetí vlastního stanoviska, které však nemusí být jednoznačné. V něm se lze dotknout i témat příbuzných či širšího kontextu celé aféry.
