Preliminary scope of work
Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá medikalizáciou pôrodu z pohľadu dul a ich rolu v demedikalizácií. Práca je rozdelená do dvoch častí. Prvá časť predstavuje teoretické východisko o dulách, ich pôsobenie v Českej republike a predošlé uchopenie v oblasti antropológie pôrodu areprodukcie. Vytvorené dáta boli kódované a následne analyzované.
Preliminary scope of work in English
This bachelor's thesis examines the medicalization of childbirth from the perspective of doulas and their role in demedicalization. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part presents a theoretical background on doulas, their presence in the Czech Republic, and previous rasp in the anthropology of birth and reproduction. Next, the thesis focuses on Czech obstetrics in the context of medicalization. For the practical part of the thesis, a qualitative method is used in the form of semi-structured in-depth interviews with seven doulas working in and around Prague. The thesis aims to find out how doulas view the phenomenon of medicalization of childbirth in the Czech Republic and what role they play in its demedicalization. The created data were coded and subsequently analyzed. The thesis provides an overview of the current state of Czech midwifery from the point of view of doulas, the ways in which they operate and do their work, and how doula work can help to demedicalize it.
