Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
Glial cells are central to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease. Many neuropathological processes, including neuroinflammation, energy dysbalances or clearance of metabolic waste products and beta-amyloid are critically linked to the function of glia. This thesis aims to review key findings on the role of astrocytes and microglia in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis.
