Guidelines

Předkládaný bakalářský projekt si klade za cíl prozkoumat na příkladu případové studie Bosny a Hercegoviny, jak jsou formy lokálního islámského radikalismu reflektovány Evropskou unií. Zatímco tématům wahhábismu, islámského radikalismu a terorismu s vazbou na Bosnu a Hercegovinu byla v posledních letech věnována dostatečná pozornost, tento bakalářský projekt se zamýšlí věnovat prozatím neprozkoumanému aspektu tohoto fenoménu, tedy jakou roli hraje islámský radikalismus v přístupových jednáních této post-jugoslávské republiky k členství EU. Toto téma považuji za důležité i vzhledem k rozjitřeným obavám z islámského fundamentalismu importovaného ze zahraničí, které můžeme pozorovat prakticky ve všech členských státech EU.

Preliminary scope of work

První část práce bude mít deskriptivní charakter shrnující specifický vývoj bosenské Islámské náboženské tradice a charakterizující importované směry Islámu, které v Bosně a Hercegovině našly po rozpadu Jugoslávie své příznivce a konfrontovaly
tamní muslimskou náboženskou obci. V této části se zaměřím na zmapování příchodu, etablování a působení radikálních wahhábistických skupin v Bosně a H. v průběhu dvou dekád od začátku devadesátých let. V jejím rámci bude poskytnut základní přehled o činnosti orgánů Islámského společenství, jejichž výlučnou autoritu tyto neformální skupiny značně narušovaly.
Druhá, analytická část se bude zabývat tím, jakým způsobem je v oficiálních dokumentech Evropské Unie zohledňujících možné budoucí přičlenění Bosny a H. k EU, reflektována přítomnost wahhábistických skupin v regionu spolu s působením zahraničních mocností jako je Saudská Arábie a Turecko. Zároveň zde rozeberu, jaké konkrétní kroky byly v potlačování radikálních skupin podniknuty, a jak v tomto ohledu Evropská unie napomáhá místním bezpečnostním složkám prostřednictvím unijních fondů či exportu know-how.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The first part of the thesis will have a descriptive character summarizing the specific development of the Bosnian Islamic religious tradition and characterizing the imported trends of Islam, which found their supporters in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the break-up of Yugoslavia and confronted them.
the local Muslim religious community. In this section, I will focus on mapping the arrival, establishment, and operation of radical Wahhabi groups in Bosnia and H. over the two decades since the early 1990s. It will provide a basic overview of the activities of the institutions of the Islamic Community, whose exclusive authority has been significantly undermined by these informal groups.
The second, analytical part will deal with how the official documents of the European Union, taking into account the possible future accession of Bosnia and H. to the EU, reflect the presence of Wahhabi groups in the region together with foreign powers such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey. At the same time, I will discuss here what specific steps have been taken to suppress radical groups, and how the European Union is helping local security forces in this regard through EU funds or the export of know-how.
