Preliminary scope of work

Bakalářská práce Stolní tenis: unikátní, ale v Česku nedoceněný sport se zabývá situací a mediálním obrazem stolního tenisu, nejrozšířenějšího sportu na světě, v České republice. V teoretické části nabízí úvod do problematiky, stručný přehled nejvýznamnějších českých a československých stolnětenisových úspěchů a případovou studii, ve které pomocí kvalitativní obsahové analýzy mediálního pokrytí mistrovství České republiky a mezinárodního turnaje Czech Open nastiňuje současnou pozici stolního tenisu v českých médiích. V praktické části pak přináší čtyři psané reportáže, které se věnují významným tématům českého stolního tenisu. Přibližují snahu klubů přilákat pohybově nadané děti, fungování pražského Reprezentačního centra mládeže, úspěšné účinkování čtyřicátníků v české extralize a činnost mediálního pracovníka České asociace stolního tenisu.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The thesis Table tennis: unique sport, but underrated in the Czech Republic deals with situation and media image of table tennis, the most widespread sport in the world, in the Czech Republic. The first part consists of an introduction to the topic, a summary of the most important Czech and Czechoslovakian results in table tennis and a qualitative content analysis which examines current position of table tennis in Czech media. Through four written reports in the practical part the thesis introduces crucial topics of current Czech table tennis. The reports show how table tennis clubs seek for talented children, how Center of young representatives in Prague works, why there are many successful players over forty years old in the Czech Extraleague and what it means to work as a media deputy of the Czech Table Tennis Association.
