Preliminary scope of work in English
This thesis aims to evaluate the role of stem cells during development of dentitions across vertebrates. Specifically, the thesis should focus on the placement of epithelial and mesenchymal stem cells and their contribution to the arising tooth germs. The key role in this process will indelibly be exhibited by a dental lamina, i.e. structure that serves as source of the sequential addition and positioning of tooth germs. This bachelor thesis will serve as a background for the upcoming diploma project that proposes to identify placement of the stem cell niches in the Mexican axolotl and identification of phenotypes after over-activation and inhibition of their differentiation properties.
