Preliminary scope of work |
Diplomová práce se zabývá tím, jakým způsobem česká média zobrazovala světové slumy (Ciudad Neza, Dharavi, Kibera, Khayelitsha a Orangi Town) v letech 2010–2017. Podle odhadů organizace UN-HABITAT žije momentálně ve slumech jedna miliarda lidí a dle současných prognóz bude v roce 2050 světové chudinské čtvrti obývat až tři miliardy lidí. Sledované období zachycuje mimo jiné i roky, kdy se Evropa potýkala s nárůstem migrantů, a zjišťuje, zda byla prezentace slumů touto problematikou ovlivněna. Diplomová práce kombinuje metodu kvantitativní obsahové analýzy a kvalitativní obsahové analýzy prostřednictvím zakotvené teorie a odpovídá na otázku, jakým způsobem média světové slumy prezentují a jaké charakteristiky jim přiřazují. |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
The thesis deals with how the Czech media depicted the world's slums (Ciudad Neza, Dharavi, Kibera, Khayelitsha and Orangi Town) from 2010 to 2017. UNHABITAT estimates that one billion people live in slums, and according to current forecasts, up to three billion people is going to be in the world's poor districts by 2050. Among other things, the examined period also covers the years when Europe was dealing with the migrant crisis. The thesis determines whether the image of slums presented by the media has been influenced by this crisis/phenomenon. The thesis combines the methods of quantitative content analysis and qualitative content analysis through an entrenched theory and answers the question of how the media present the world slums and what characteristics they assign to them. It also examines whether there has been a change in the way the media has reported on slums over the years and the causes that have led the media to inform its readers about poor neighbourhoods. To obtain the necessary data, the Newton Media database was used and relevant contributions from newspapers, magazines and their internet mutations, web portals of public media and commercial television were selected through this database. The outcome of the work is to present the data obtained from the research. |
