Guidelines

Práce se bude zabývat dvěma stavbami v Zoo Praha, označovanými jako „buddhistická gompa“ a „hinduistický ašrám“, které tvoří součást expozice Údolí slonů, otevřené r. 2013. Jejich podoba vychází z asijské, pravděpodobně indické a tibetské, sakrální architektury, včetně instalovaných kultických soch. Budou představeny jako specifický případ pro zkoumání problematiky umisťování rituálních a posvátných objektů, případně jejich imitací, v sekulárních institucích. Širší zařazení případu vychází především z literatury zabývající se pozicí a rolí objektů, které jsou určitými náboženskými tradicemi vnímány jako posvátné, v prostředí muzeí a galerií. Součástí práce bude tedy též zhodnocení, zda se obdobné otázky a problémy objevují i v prostředí zoologické zahrady, případně v čem je jeho situace odlišná. Výsledkem práce by měla být analýza kontextu, do něhož jsou zmíněné stavby a předměty v prostředí pražské zoologické zahrady zasazeny, a významů, které tak mohou nabývat. Součástí rozboru je i to, s jakými obrazy hinduismu a buddhismu expozice nejspíše pracuje, případně jaké sama vytváří. Zájem se tak dotýká též tematiky charakteristických kategorií a obrazů, skrze něž jsou tyto náboženské tradice vnímány a konstruovány v evropském, případně „západním“ diskurzu.
