Preliminary scope of work |
Cílem této diplomové práce je studovat mikrostrukturu ultrajemnozrnných hořčíkových slitin a korelovat ji s mechanickými vlastnostmi těchto materiálů připravených některými z technologií intenzivní plastické deformace. |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
Ultrafine-grained materials prepared usually by severe plastic deformation are characterized by better mechanical properties (especially higher strength) in comparison with materials prepared by conventional techniques.
One of the most promising SPD techniques is the equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) in which multi-pass pressing of the specimen allows to reach very high total strains and high grain refinement in the material. Other modern processing techniques have been developed in the last years to produce fine-grain structure, in particular high pressure torsion, swaging, etc. The common feature of all these techniques is the introduction of a large number of crystal defects in the material which are in a non-equilibrium state. Metals and alloys with fine grains have proven to be promising classes of novel materials with a wide variety of possible structural applications and many unique properties which are superior to those of their coarse grained counterparts. The objective of this diploma thesis is to investigate microstructure development of the ultrafine-grained magnesium based alloys and to correlate it with the mechanical properties of the materials prepared by some of the other severe plastic deformation techniques. |
