Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
This PhD project will study the mechanical, electronic and conducting properties of molecular nanojunctions using first-principles methods based on DFT and NEGF. Extensions to the DFT-NEGF method will be explored to calculate conductance in an approximate way for many junction structures. Different molecular structures, chemical linkers and quantum interference effects will be studied.
