Preliminary scope of work in English |
Topic characteristics:
At first, my objective of the paper is to introduce IKEA by mentioning how IKEA started its business, how it is profiting from the higher living standard s in the Czech Republic, what is its price benchmark and how the purchasing power affects the revenue and profit of IKEA. Moreover, my other objective of this paper is to analyze Ikea’s minimum requirements for environment, social and working conditions when purchasing products, materials and services and its influence on the supplier’s companies and its eventual impact on the local society. The study will investigate if these requirements have positive or negative impact on company’s sales or revenue and how does these requirements affect the competition of the suppliers and sub-suppliers. Does these requirements support Ikea’s price setting and does Ikea have competitive benefits towards their competitors by implying these demands Hypothesis: 1. My hypothesis is that these “IWAY” requirements have positive impact on Ikea’s suppliers in terms of competitiveness between the suppliers. 2. Ikea also has competitive advantage over their competitors, such as Kika and other companies selling home furnishings. 3. The IWAY requirements have positive impact on supplier’s revenues and higher cost. Methodology: Public Finance view, microeconomic view, labour conditions, interviews with employees and Human Research departments Outline:1. Introduction 2. Explanation of how IKEA profits from the higher standard of living in the Czech Republic 3. Explanation of the IWAY standard 4. Public Finance view, different models 5. Microeconomic view, different models 6. Conclusion Bibliography: "About IKEA." Facts & Figures. Inter-Ikea Systems, n.d. Web. 16 June 2013. "About IKEA." The IKEA Way. Inter-Ikea Systems, n.d.
