Student zpracuje komentovaný přehled metod a přístupů k výpočtu objemu a povrchu koule od starověku až po vznik infinitezimálního počtu. Důraz položí zejména na interpretaci Archimédových děl "O kouli a válci I., II." a "O metodě".
