Getting acquainted with the goals of nucleon spin structure studies at Compass experiment at CERN. Getting acquainted with the COMPASS spectrometer, low temperature polarized proton and deuteron target and polarized muon beam for nucleon spin structure studies. Principles of dynamic proton and deuteron polarization at low temperatures, choice of the target material, proton and deuteron polarization measurements and polarization data analysis. Preparation and operation of low temperature polarized target at COMPASS for runs 2010 and 2011. Optimization and measurements of the target polarization during the COMPASS runs 2010 and 2011.
