SOFA-HI is a profile of SOFA 2 component system tailored specifically for real-time embedded systems. Stemming from SOFA 2, SOFA-HI inherits advanced features like hierarchical component model, seamless distribution via software connectors, modes etc. The goal of this thesis is to allow SOFA-HI applications to be developed for and deployed on the nxtOSEK platform, which is a small-footprint real-time operating system and board support package for Lego Mindstorms NXT. In particular, the thesis should provide a runtime support for deploying and running the applications. It should further provide pre-made components or platform services to communicate with the standard NXT sensors and actuators.
