The aim of this project will be to understand basic properties of character tables of finite groups and the relation to simple modules. The character table is an array of numbers with columns indexed by conjugacy classes and rows indexed by equivalence classes of irreducible characters. This table determines the representations of the group over the complex numbers. The project will investigate basic properties of these tables, and applications.
