Preliminary scope of work

Bakalářská práce se věnuje lýkožroutu smrkovému s důrazem na možné postupy při řešení kalamitních stavů v NP ?umava a aplikaci textů pojednávajících o tomto problému do výuky zeměpisu. Kalamity způsobené lýkožroutem smrkovým jsou dlouhodobým problémem nepůvodních smrkových monokultur, které nejen na ?umavě nahradily původní smíšené lesy. Názory na způsob řešení kalamitních stavů se často liší a je dosti obtížné posoudit jejich objektivnost. Metoda čtení textů je vhodná při zařazení tohoto tématu do geografického vzdělávání. Aktivním čtením textů v hodinách zeměpisu studenti rozvíjí schopnost kritického myšlení a utvářejí si vlastní názor. Soubor předložených textů zahrnující různé pohledy na řešení kůrovcové kalamity na ?umavě pomůže učiteli při rozvoji uvedených schopností u studentů. Texty jsou rozděleny do tří názorových skupin podle navrhovaného řešení. Součástí práce je rovněž CD s texty, se kterými může učitel pracovat a upravovat je podle potřeby.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of Ips typographus with an emphasis on the possible ways of solving the outbreaks of its population in the National Park of ?umava. This work is also concerned with the application of articles dealing with this problem into geographical education. The outbreaks caused by the Spruce Bark Beetle are a long-term problem typical for non-native spruce monocultures that have replaced, not only in ?umava, the native mixed forests. The opinions on how to approach this matter differ a lot and it is quite hard to assess their objectivity. The method of active reading proved to be ideal when including this topic into geographical education. Active reading of texts in the geographical lessons helps students to develop critical thinking and to shape their individual opinion. The set of articles presented in this thesis encompassing various insights on how to solve the Spruce Bark Beetle outbreaks in ?umava will help the teacher in developing the above mentioned students' skills. Articles are divided into three separate groups according to the solution they propose. A CD included in this work contains selected articles. Teachers have the option to work with the articles and to modify them.
