Úloha Evropské unie při zajišťování mezinárodního míru a bezpečnosti - mezinárodněprávní aspekty. Analýza působení Evropské unie jako "globálního hráče", který respektuje mezinárodní právo a hlavní odpovědnost Rady bezpečnosti OSN za udržování mezinárodního míru a bezpečnosti. Vymezení obecného rámce pro úlohu Evropské unie při zajišťování mezinárodního míru a bezpečnosti (definice základních pojmů, charakteristika systému kolektivní bezpečnosti OSN, úloha oblastních dohod a orgánů při zajišťování mezinárodního míru a bezpečnosti, význam práva na sebeobranu v současném mezinárodním systému), vývoj spolupráce v otázkách bezpečnosti a obrany na úrovni Evropské unie, analýza realizace vojenských operací Evropské unie, spolupráce EU s OSN a NATO, problematika kategorizace Evropské unie jako mezinárodní organizace.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The role of the European Union in maintaining international peace and security - international law aspects. Analysis of the European Union as a "global player" which respects international law and primary responsibility of the United Nations Security Council for international peace and security. Delimitation of general framework for the role of the European Union in maintaining international peace and security (definition of basic terms, characterization of the United Nations collective security system, the role of the regional arrangements and agencies in maintaining international peace and security, role of the right of self-defence in current international system), development of cooperation in the area of security and defence at the EU level, analysis of realisation of EU military missions, cooperation between the EU and the UN, NATO, respectively, issue of categorisation of the European Union as an international organization.
