Preliminary scope of work in English
The master circadian pacemaker controlling 24-hour rhythms of a wide variety of functions is localized in the suprachiasmatic nuclei of the hypothalamus. The retinal circadian clock is extra-SCN circadian oscillator that drives physiological processes important for vision. The aim of the sudy is to describe physiological, cellular and molecular rhythms within the retina and to define a network of hierarchically organized circadian clocks that are present within this tissue.
