| Práce bude vycházet z podrobného seznámení s mechanismem a funkcemi pražského orloje jako významného příkladu astronomických orlojů vůbec. V Evropě je několik desítek historických i moderních orlojů na pevných stanovištích a několik stovek přenosných starých astronomických hodin v muzeích. Po dohodě s vedoucím práce a podle možností budou zvoleny orloje, jejichž detailní popis bude předmětem práce. |

| Práce má podat podrobný popis mechanismů a funkcí vybraných historických a moderních orlojů a poukázat na jejich shodné a rozdílné rysy. Přednostním hlediskem popisu budou funkce orloje a jejich astronomické a matematické základy. |

| The thesis should describe - in detail - the mechanisms and functions of selected historical and modern astronomical clocks with respect to the their astronomical and mathematical fundamentals. The similar and different features of the clocks should be emphasized. |
