| Bakalářská práce se zabývá zahraniční politikou Spojených států amerických v letech 1981 až 1989, konkrétně obdobím vlády Ronalda Reagana. Ústřední postavou práce je druhý ministr zahraničních věcí Reaganovy administrativy George P. Shultz, který vnesl do zahraniční politiky nový konstruktivistický proud. Reaganova administrativa se ve věcech zahraniční politiky vyznačovala neukotveným směřováním a nejednotným strategickým ale i teoretickým přístupem k mezinárodním vztahům. Práce se bude dominantně zabývat Shultzovým konstruktivistickým pojetím, které se vymezovalo vůči konfrontačnímu a realistickému stylu ministra obrany Caspara Weinbergera a ředitele CIA Williama Caseyho. Záměrem práce je poukázat na odlišný přístup těchto dvou frakcí a jak transformovaly postoj prezidenta Reagana k mezinárodním záležitostem. Cílem práce je dokázat rostoucí vliv ministra zahraničí Shultze, který vytvořil během 80. let silný konstruktivistický proud v zahraničních politice Spojených států. |
