Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
The work aims to gather and organize knowledge about the social organization in gerbils. Apparently, these systems differ significantly. While the Mongolian gerbil is monogamous, other species are polygynous or promiscuous. Some live in extensive colonies, while others are more solitary. The student should rely on the works of Israeli authors and compare them with the results from Russian, Chinese, and French research institutions. The goal is to connect field observations with findings obtained under laboratory conditions.
