Cílem práce je analyzovat mikrobiální skrumáže v ledovcové tavné vodě z místa vývěru metanu zpod grónského ledovce. Práce bude testovat hypotézu, že existuje souvislost mezi množstvím metanu uvolňovaného zpod ledu (data jsou k dispozici od kolegů z Dánska) a složením exportovaných mikrobiálních skrumáží, které bude analyzováno pomocí sekvenačních dat (16S rDNA Illumina MiSeq data).
Preliminary scope of work in English
The aim of the thesis is to analyse microbial assemblages from subglacial runoff discharging at a site with known methane efflux from the Greenland ice sheet. The work will test the hypothesis that the amount of methane released is correlated to the microbial functional groups exported. The methane data are available courtesy of our Danish colleagues; the microbial assemblages will be investigated via Illumina MiSeq sequencing and bionformatic analysis, and the datasets compared using suitable statistical methods.
