Preliminary scope of work in English
Foremost, the thesis will attempt to answer when and where the gender specific change in labour market occurs. In the first part, quantitative methods will be applied in order to examine labour market development in detail. The secondary data from Eurostat, OECD and Czech Statistical Bureau will be used in order to perform a comparative analysis of female and male labour market in Czechia. The analysis will focus on smaller geographical regions as well as time periods (quarterly or annual data). Careful comparison of number of employed people (categorized not only by gender, but also by education and age) and their respective share among different types of alternative employment should discover when and where is the difference in trend (most) present. This shall define target group and guide sampling for the second part of the research.
Later part of the thesis shall focus on why the gender specific change occurs. The second part shall conduct qulititative research. Based on Startiene & Remeikiene’s theory of micro environment factors (demographical and social-psychological) and macro-environment factors (economic, cultural, institutional/political and technological and geographical) the thesis shall examine development of multiple factors and determine whether there was a change in one of those factors explaining the change in elf-employment behavior.
