Preliminary scope of work

Práce se věnuje popisu a klasifikaci novozákonních charakteristik Kristovy smrti. Nejprve sleduje způsob, jakým se křesťanství vymezuje vůči soudobé židovské a antické rituální praxi krvavé oběti. Dílčím cílem je tedy určit a charakterizovat vybraná, z tohoto hlediska relevantní písemná svědectví o zvířecích obětech, aby mohla být zodpovězena otázka, proč muselo křesťanství praktikování krvavých obětí odmítnout. Další výklad bude věnován otázce, zda (případně jakým způsobem) rané křesťanství – i přes toto radikální odmítnutí – ve svém výkladu Kristovy smrti přece jen židovskou i pohanskou obětní terminologii nadále nevyužívá. Právě na tomto základě je posléze tematizován vznik křesťanských soteriologických koncepcí a důvody, proč se Kristova smrt chápe jako naplnění a překonání všech dosavadních obětí. Cílem práce je tak přispět k hlubšímu a diferencovanějšímu porozumění Kristovy smrti jako oběti.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The thesis will describe and classify the essential features of the death of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. At the beginning of my study, I will explain the arguments of the Early Christians who departed from the contemporary blood sacrifice rituals of Judaism and Antiquity. The thesis will define and relate to several relevant written testimonies of animal sacrifice that can help answer the question why Christianity had to reject this practice. The further presentation will address the fact that despite the radical rejection of the blood rituals, the Early Christians still used both Jewish and pagan sacrifice terminology. On this basis, the origin of the soteriological conceptions of the Early Christians will be described. The thesis will indicate the reasons why the death of Jesus Christ has been perceived as fulfilment and surpassing of all actual sacrifices. My thesis should contribute to deeper and more differentiated insight into the issue of the Jesus Christ´s death as sacrifice.
