Preliminary scope of work in English
Proton membrane permeability increases the uncoupling proteins (UCP), which reduce energy conversion efficiency, inhibit ATP synthesis and stimulate energy release in the form of heat. UCP also increases the oxidation of substrates and reduces the formation of reactive oxygen species in mitochondria. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the role of UCP in cardioprotection.
