Guidelines
Most of the popular database systems can now be denoted as multi-model, that is, supporting multiple models. Such a system offers the possibility to use a combination of several logical models, such as graph and document, for data storage, to define relationships between the data and to query across the models. The aim of the thesis is to investigate and describe the area of multi-model databases, to select a suitable subset of similar systems and experimentally compare their features and efficiency using both real-world and synthetic data.

Preliminary scope of work
Většina tradičních databázových systémů se již dá označit za tzv. multi-model, tj. podporuje více než jeden logický model. Data je tak možné ukládat např. částečně jako dokumenty a částečně ve formě grafů. Samozřejmostí je provázání všech podporovaných modelů a dotazování napříč modely. Každý systém ale tuto funkcionalitu implementuje jiným způsobem. Tudíž se nabízené operace i jejich efektivita značně liší. Cílem práce je seznámit se s oblastí multi-model databází obecně, zvolit vhodnou podmnožinu podobných systémů a provést jejich srovnávací analýzu.
