Preliminary scope of work

Abstrakt

Hranice mezi žitím v rámci virtuálních prostorů a mimo ně a implikace mizení této hranice v současnosti jsou problémem, se kterým se setkáváme na denní bázi. Způsoby, jakým se pokoušíme vyrovnat s tímto problémem prostřednictvím vyhrazování určitých typů vztahů pro určité platformy, by měly být více rozebírány. V této práci si vytyčuji cíl zjistit, jakým způsobem lidé na virtuálních sociálních sítích, konkrétně v rámci skupin na těchto platformách, udržují vztahy v tomto prostoru, jakou povahu tyto vztahy většinou mívají, jakým způsobem se podílí či nepodílí na dění v rámci skupiny a co je motivuje k tomu tímto způsobem jednat a takto uvažovat. Metodologie výzkumu bude složena z kombinace etnograficky pojatého zjevného pozorování v prostoru skupin a rozhovorů s vybranými členy skupin ať už prostřednictvím textové konverzace, osobního kontaktu, či formou tomuto kontaktu blízkou. Rozhovory budou následně analyzovány prostřednictvím zakotvené teorie a poznámky z pozorování pomocí pragmaticky-interakcionistického přístupu.

Preliminary scope of work in English

Abstract

Boundary lines between living within virtual spaces and outside of them and implications of dissapearing of such lines are a contemporary problem we meet with on a daily basis. Ways, in which we try cope with this problem by dedicating certain types of relationships for certain platforms, should be analyzed more. In this thesis I set myself a goal to find, in what way do people on social network sites , specifically within group on these platforms, maintain relationships in this space, what is most often the nature of these relationships, in what way do they participace or do not participate on the affairs within group and what motivates them to act and think about it this way. Research's methodology will compose of combination of ethnographically constructed evident observation in the group's space and interviews with selected members of groups via either text conversation, face-to-face contact, or other form close to such contact. Interviews will then be analyzed through Grounded Theory and notes from observation through pragmatic-interactionist approach.
