Preliminary scope of work in English

In the project, the student will search genome databases at the nucleotide and protein levels for occurrence of sequences of cytokines from the interleukin 10 family (including interferon gamma) and their receptors, compare their sequences and infer possible evolutionary consequences. The sequence searches will be done on an ensemble of selected organisms from cartilagous fish to human using custom made computer programs. An emphasis will be put on elucidating coevolution of the cytokines and their receptors.
