Guidelines
The authors of [1] analyse the differential and linear properties of S-Boxes which are affine equivalent to each other. A related question is based on an attack called "higher order attacks". Two affinely equivalent S-Boxes have the same vulnerability against higher order cryptanalysis. But the question whether CCZ-equivalent S-Boxes have the same vulnerability is unsolved. The student will work on this problem and report on her findings. In case of limited progress on an original solution to the proposed problem, the thesis should include a survey on the vulnerability of S-Boxes of Caesar competitors according to this criterion.
