Demokratická transformace na počátku 90. let přinesla Evropě otevření státních hranic a stala se tak impulsem k uskutečňování mnoha mezinárodních migrací. Od této doby se také Česká republika stává součástí velmi specifických migračních proudů romského etnika. Z České republiky již emigrovalo přes 75 tisíc Romů, představující jednu z nejvíce zranitelných, sociálně znevýhodněných a diskriminovaných etnických menšin a právě Velká Británie je jednou z jejich nejvyhledávanějších cílových zemí. Motivy vedoucí k emigraci českých Romů z České republiky do Velké Británie balancují mezi „push“ motivy deprivace a diskriminace a „pull“ motivy představujícími zlepšení jejich životní úrovně. Z akademického hlediska převládá absence informací o životních podmínkách českých Romů ve Velké Británii, především zda dochází k jejich integraci v britské společnosti a jaké jsou hlavní motivy jejich návratové migrace do České republiky. Cílem práce je tedy prohloubení dosavadních poznatků o integraci českých Romů, kteří žijí ve Velké Británii v kontextu jejich migrací a identifikování hlavních motivů, vedoucích k jejich emigraci z Velké Británie zpět do České republiky. Tento výzkum se také snaží zhodnotit, jaký vliv měla integrace českých Romů v britské společnosti na jejich návratovou migraci do České republiky. Vzhledem k cílům této práce je výzkum postaven na kvalitativním přístupu a metodou případové studie. Primárním důvodem využití kvalitativního přístupu v této práci je jeho opření o empirii na základě porozumění několika málo případům. Sběr dat byl zvolen metodou polostrukturovaných hloubkových rozhovorů. K měření integrace českých Romů v britské společnosti je využit koncept Entzingera a Biezevelda (2003). Teoretickými východisky pro identifikování hlavních motivů návratové migrace z Velké Británie do České republiky jsou především neoklasická ekonomická migrační teorie, teorie NELM, teorie migračních sítí a koncept transnacionalismu. Tyto teorie poskytují vysvětlení návratových migrací českých Romů jako výsledek úspěchu či selhání v britské společnosti.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The democratic transformation in the early 1990s has brought Europe to the opening of national borders and has become an impetus for many international migrations. Since then, the Czech Republic has also become part of the very specific migratory flows of the Roma ethnic group. More than 75,000 Roma have already emigrated from the Czech Republic, representing one of the most vulnerable, socially disadvantaged and discriminated ethnic minorities. It is precisely Great Britain that is one of their most sought-after destination countries. The motives leading to the emigration of Czech Roma from the Czech Republic to Great Britain are balancing between "push" motives of deprivation and discrimination and "pull" motives representing an improvement in their standard of living. From an academic point of view, the absence of information on the living conditions of Czech Roma in the UK prevails, especially whether they are integrated in British society and what are the main motives for their return migration to the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to deepen the existing knowledge about the integration of Czech Roma living in the UK in the context of their migration and to identify the main motives leading to their emigration from Great Britain back to the Czech Republic. This research also seeks to evaluate the impact of the integration of Czech Roma in British society on their return migration to the Czech Republic. Given the objectives of this work, the research is based on a qualitative approach and a case study method. The primary reason for using the qualitative approach in this work is to rely on empiricism by understanding a few cases. Data collection was chosen by the method of semi-structured in-depth interviews. The concept of Entzinger and Biezeveld (2003) is used to measure the integration of Czech Roma in British society. The theoretical basis for the identification of the main motives of the return migration from Great Britain to the Czech Republic are mainly neoclassical economic migration theory, NELM theory, the theory of migration networks and the concept of transnationalism. These theories give us an explanation of the return migration of Czech Roma as a result of success or failure in British society.
